Barker's Foodstore & Eatery
History
Barker’s of Geraldine is still on a corner of the original family farm, nestled in the picturesque South Canterbury town of Geraldine. The farm sits in the lea of the Four Peaks mountain range, beside the Te Moana River and surrounded by rolling pastures.
The farm is now a large thriving business, making world class jams, chutneys, syrups and condiments. Barker’s supports the local community employing over 250 local people, and always buys local produce whenever possible.
Barker's Foodstore and Eatery
In September we opened the flagship Barker’s Foodstore and Eatery. Located in the grounds of the former St Mary's Vicarage in the heart of Geraldine, it overlooks the river walk. It is a purpose-built landmark Foodstore and Eatery with an innovative fresh menu using ingredients from Barker’s of Geraldine and Barker’s Professional ranges. These are complemented by a selection of local New Zealand artisan products, you can purchase them in the Foodstore for your home kitchen too.

Foodstore Tasting Table
Just inside the door we have a tasting table filled with 16 Barker's of Geraldine products (on rotation) for you to interact with, learn about the ingredients and explore the taste sensation. This follows through to being able to label your very own products which is great for gifting.
Complimentary Fruit Syrup Tasting Station
It’s simple! Grab a glass, choose a syrup from our range, dilute one-part syrup to one-part water - sparkling or still. Let us know what you think, don't forget you can then buy from the Foodstore too!
Complimentary Condiment Refill Station
Take your meal to the complimentary condiment refill station to replenish your condiments or add to the plate. It is a great way to explore things you haven't tried before, and then you can purchase them in the Foodstore to use at home.
Do join us as you travel through or stay the night in Geraldine, sit on our veranda or a cosy booth and delight in a delicious breakfast, a light lunch or afternoon tea, maybe just a coffee and sweet treat, we have you covered. Your children will love our ‘Kids Menu’ designed with kids for kids!
We seat 100 in our eatery and 50 on the veranda. We have 21 car parking spaces, plus 3 disability parks and the Foodstore & Eatery is wheelchair friendly throughout. FREE Wifi for ALL customers. Please feel free to reserve a table.
