Major Events Support Fund
The Major Events Support Fund provides funding for medium to large events taking place in the Timaru District during the period to 30 June 2022.
The first round of applications is now closed.
Applications can be for a minimum of $10,000 and a maximum of $50,000 GST exclusive.
The annual portfolio of major events supported will be a diverse range of events across the calendar year and across the district. These include a mix of arts, music, cultural and sporting events.
The Major Events Support Fund is sourced from the Timaru District Council and the Canterbury & Westland Regional Events Fund.
Three primary event categories will be considered:
- Emerging events that are new and warrant a kick start grant investment as they are seen to have significant long-term growth potential for the Timaru District.
- Cornerstone long-standing events that have proven performance in delivering high profile for the Timaru District, add to the district's value proposition and where Venture Timaru’s ongoing support will drive incremental visitation and expansion opportunity.
- Significant one-off events that present an opportunity to deliver substantial benefits to the Timaru District by way of profile, increased visitation, and new business opportunities.
All application assessments will be considered, by the board of Venture Timaru.
